See You Next Tuesday is a box-fresh festival for International Women's Day 2010 featuring theatre, comedy, film, burlesque and cabaret at the New Players Theatre, WC2. CLICK HERE TO BOOK TICKETS. See You Next Tuesdaywas conceived by Annie Saunders and Emma Jane Richards, producers of V-Day London2008 and 2009. V-Day London is part of the global V-Day movement to end violence against women and girls in which local artists produce events and performances to raise awareness and funds to end violence against women.
With overwhelming success in the last two years with innovative re-imaginings of the controversial classic The Vagina Monologues and the new collection A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer, we decided to branch out, creating a festival to showcase fantastic feminine and feminist talent for an action-packed two weeks, raising discussion (and eyebrows) about all aspects of violence against women, including gender, sexuality, identity, equality and more in lavish and experimental playground of fancy.
One in every three women in the UK and worldwide has been beaten, sexually assaulted or otherwise abused in her lifetime, making this the most pervasive and urgent human rights issue of our time. We know from experience that through performance we can change public perception, get down to causes and conditions, and effect lasting and positive change.
In short, we believe we can end violence against women through creative empowerment. We are a fierce and beautiful force for change. Join us!
If you'd like to bring a show to the festival or get involved in any way, please email us at vdaylondon@gmail.com. We can't wait to hear from you.
