off to check this out tonight - Thursday 25 March 2010 - looking good. here's the write up from the site:

Enter the dark world of consumerism as three dynamic and vocal women struggle to create a sense of their own worth and identity from deep within the clutches of consumerism. With fearless performances of compelling choreography, this is a comedic flurry of dancetheatre, song and tightly wrought performance poetry.

“A wry comment on the pressures of being a woman in a high-achieving, consumerist society, the show lays bare the dark side of the quest for physical perfection with an honesty Naomi Wolf would be proud of.” FestMag

I've just got to say...

I saw All The King's Men cabaret show last night and it was outstanding.

Side-splittingly funny, and perfect for that late night, stumble upon in a dark London theatre in the arches under Charing Cross type of night.
If you can - do try and get down tonight for just one hour at 10pm, it says a lot about what our festiavl is about, it's questioning, challenging but funny and fabulous and entertaining all at the same time. We call it gender-bending-queer-cabaret :)
Their blurb:
Their ever-changing show features a troupe of six prolific artists who collectively play between thirty and fifty gender bending characters per performance. Incorporating pop-cultural satire, dance, scene work, storytelling, socio-political commentary, burlesque, multi-media, comedy and drama, All The Kings Men seek to create unique experiences that excite, engage, educate and entertain.
It's what ya need.

Also they have a proper film made abut them, here's the trailer.
Coming to a film festival near you. Soon.

i get a bit lost at times, like when she looks like Amy Winehouse and Madonna combined with the bad lingerie to boot.
but it has aspects of brilliance, intelligence, magic. but I dunno, I always feel like Gaga + Akerlund always fall just wide of the mark. it's like two different concepts fighting. which may be the point.
i actually think i prefer the weird gun toting video of this tune tho.
hmm. she fascinates me.
the other night as i was walking through Charing Cross, one of those guys who fixes the Underground, after it closes, was loitering for the last tube and called after me "hey - Gaga!"
